Andrius Švarplys – a political scientist from Kaunas, Lithuania, University of Applied Sciences. Having background in philosophy (bachelor) and law (master) has defended his PhD on „European Identity Formation in the European Union”. Author of a dozen scientific articles and numerous papers at international conferences. A notable book „Becomming Europeans in the Central Eastern Europe: National Identity Construction After 2004” (eds. with B.Zdaniuk), published 2014, University of Warsaw.
Research interests include: global governance versus legitimacy/democracy/accountability; ideological and social transformation of Western societies; the rise of Far Right and nationalism; conceptualization on development of the EU.
A member of Lithuanian Family Movement.
